Let us check if there any earlier version or a trial version of Office suite installed on the computer. Follow the steps: 1. Once removed, restart the computer in Clean Boot and install Office suite. I got the same error with Windows 8 and Office PP x Got bootstrapper error with Excel ref in error. Installed Office custom and unselected Excel. Office installed fine and was working fine. Ran setup again and added Excel feature and it installed. I have the exactly same problem on win7 x64, and I have solve it by reset some of the services by default settings. However, I am not sure which services cause this problem. By installing a new win7 in virtual box, the office installs without any error.

I try other solution mentioned in previous replies, but the problem still occurred. After modified some services setting, this problem solved and office installed successfully.
