First thing I notice once the voices kicked in is dubbing disease. For those unfamiliar with this term, the lip motion is out of sync with the words heard. OK, back to square one and reset my video options back to what worked best and now play with the audio cables to see if I can use the sound from the mic port as opposed to the capture device port to see if this will resolve the audio delay.

When this failed I went back to the original capture device audio port and for grins and giggles I turned off the play back monitor and recorded a couple of minutes and then played back my short recording to see this resolved the dubbing disease issue which worked.

So I recorded my movie the second time. Now I need to convert the captured video file mpg format. Well, I did want to have a neat DVD menu so I of course tried their option to “Edit and Transfer” only to not be able to find my captured video because the browse button once again causes the software to crash. I try their “Create DVD” option and again using the browse button to find my captured video causes the software to crash.

Well, I’ll just attempt to convert and burn now. Again, a couple of options to choose from. First I tried convert straight to DVD, which the browse button actually works on. So after playing with the settings again, I attempt my first burn. Explorer on the old PC confirms the files on the disk are unreadable. I bring the disk back to the original burner and the original burn also confirms my instinct that the files are unreadable.

Well, to sum this review up, I tried a few different ways to burn the DVD with the same negative results. Over a dozen DVD disc wasted using various methods to burn all resulted in either the software pretending to burn to the DVD when no files are actually written or files that are written are not readable. I have sent in my work order to Roxio to see if they can resolve.

But bottom line is this, if I have this much trouble out of the gate and I’m good on PCs, how much more trouble will you have using this software? I tried installing this on my newer, faster Win7 machine and the software seemed to install fine but when I tried to open Easy VHS it would fail with “The certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please re-install it. Googling got me nowhere. So, I tried it on some older Xp machines and it worked fine, but too darn slow to be useful.

I ended up reformatting and reloading Win7 on my newest machine what the heck, it was overdue anyway! There is no manual, but if you spend a little time playing with the settings and googling to find out what each one does you will be able to get a usable copy – a high quality VHS player and good condition tapes make a difference as well.

Eventually, I was able to insert a VHS, then just set it and forget. The files are large if you use the high resolution settings but once you have them on your hard drive you can use some other freeware to edit them as needed. Again, this is all I wanted the software for and for me it did the job. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Any evaluation at this time is too premature.

The product looks like it will have lots of features once I am more familiar with the product. But I do have some preliminary beefs. When I first received the product it was not clear to me that it would burn a Blu-ray disk altho the promo materials indicated such.

However, the accompanying print materials made reference to a BD plug-in which I interpreted as necessary to burn a BD. I ordered the plug-in but had difficulty with the installation. I sought support from Roxio and they confirmed that the plug-in was not necessary for to burn a BD disk. I have yet to follow the installation instructions for the plug-in as they are far short of routine.

The procedure stopped about a third of the way through. At this point that is the extent of my experience with Creator Pro Needless to say it has not been positive; however, I am reluctant to say that the product is a bust, but it certainly has not met my expectations so far.

I’m installing this on a clean system with only adobe cs4 and and my virus software. What version of windows 7 do you have your Creator running on with no problems? Is it 64 bit?

Mine is, and it looks like at least one other poster having this problem is confirmed as 64 bit windows 7. I did a clean install also I had to reformat because of another problem and again, it went in after all windows updates but before I installed any other app original install was on a fully working system.

I was happily using Roxio Creator on my Vista 64 system. I learned afterwards from reading online That Roxio Creator was not compatible with Windows 7. I then purchased an upgrade license online paying the price to upgrade from Roxio Creator Is it possible that this upgrade is looking for a previous version of Roxio on my system?

What may have happened is there are remnants of still on the system and that may be messing things up. But looking at that log it seems the problem is with DirectX installation.

Try downloading that from Microsoft DirectX 9. I formatted my partition before a clean install of Windows 7. Could it really still be holding on to remnants of ?

I’ll try your suggestion though and report back. Thanks for the continued support. OK so none of the folders that link suggested I delete existed except one empty Sonic folder in the registry.

Without much hope for success, I deleted it and restarted my computer. Roxio then installed without a problem!! It installed very quickly in comparison to my Creator Ultimate version also. I must say that Roxio is a visually stunning improvement over Creator Ultimate and it was worth the extra work. I only hope that your suggestion helps the other couple of people that are getting the “does not meet minimum system requirements” message.

Has anyone installed on a system that already has Creator and Creator Pro If Pro, what happens to all the other apps? I got the program installed by placing it on a DVD disk. It installed fine.
